Where are your tender spots?

Bloopers can appear anywhere, in any country and in any written format. From cash machines to menus

This rather confusing message was displayed as the final screen in a cash machine transaction “Welcome again”.

With global warming being a hot issue, this company has a lot to answer for “We specialize in desert production.” We assume they mean ‘dessert’. But it still doesn’t sound very appealing…

This type of phrase may occasionally come up in X-rated movies, but we advise you not to use it on your website. “Our consultants will touch you on your tender spots.” For those of you who are wondering, we think they mean “Our consultants help you solve the important issues facing your company.”

But of course, native English speakers get it wrong sometimes. Here’s the title line from a brochure for an English school in Warsaw “Proffessional English Language Consultants.” Really, how professional can they be?
