Signage peculiarities from New Zealand and Australia… as seen from behind the lens.

When driving through the countryside in Australia, wild animals are not the only hazards. Deciphering the road signs also keeps you busy.

The buses in New Zealand’s capital city Wellington play a big role in municipal branding. Every bus carries a different “go” message about something you can experience in the city – all based on a sports chant used by the local rugby team many years ago: Go go Wellington!

Our favorite bus message is the one below. Any guesses what that’s about?

A special kind of superhero! In typical Aussie fashion of getting straight to the point, a wildlife park in Australia is campaigning people to use toilet paper made from recycled paper. Wipe for Wildlife is one of the better taglines we’ve seen recently!

Evidence of New Zealand’s multiculturalism can be seen in the way that English and the language of the native Maori are often combined quite naturally.

Emirates Airline promotes its new European destinations from Melbourne, Australia by using Copenhagen as well as other cities. If you look very closely, you can almost see Eye for Image’s offices in this picture!

We wonder if this seagull is trying to figure out the grammatical intention of this sign, which greets sailors at Auckland Harbour, New Zealand.

Luckily for visitors to one of New Zealand’s top tourist attractions, they don’t have to be able to pronounce its full Maori name as a requirement for entry. Give us a call if you want to try it out!
